<p class="MsoNormal">The Open University is inviting applications for full-time PhD studentships commencing 1 October 2016; the closing date for applications is *22 April*.

<p class="MsoNormal">A number of studentships will be available for exceptional UK, EU, and overseas applicants for full-time 3-year research projects.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The NLP group at the Open University would be interested in hearing from candidates wishing to pursue research in any of the following areas:<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">- computational semantics and pragmatics (including dialogue modelling and ambiguity),<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- natural language generation,<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">- information extraction,<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">- NLP applied to educational technology,<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">These are full-time three-year studentships and you would be required to live in the UK and within commuting distance of the centrally-located Milton Keynes Open University campus (40 minutes from London Euston). You will be allocated office
