We invite VR researchers and enthusiasts to submit videos showcasing
virtual reality research and applications. Video submissions can also
include results on 3D user interfaces, mixed reality or augmented reality.
We welcome videos showing preliminary results as well consolidated
researched results. Videos should be able to stand on their own and
adequately present their topic and must be between 2 and 5 minutes long and
be narrated in English. Videos can and should be submitted independently of
a paper submission, although videos describing work in a submitted paper
are welcome, too.
Selected videos will be included in the electronic proceedings and will
also be prominently displayed during the IEEE Virtual Reality 2016
conference. Authors of selected videos will also be given the option for
their submission to be included in the IEEE VR YouTube channel.
Each video must be accompanied by a one-page PDF description. These
descriptions will be included in the electronic proceedings, and therefore
must be formatted using the IEEE Computer Society format described at
http://www.cs.sfu.ca/~vis/Tasks/camera.html. Each description should
include:
- A title
- A 200-word abstract
- References
- Acknowledgements
- Contact information with author names, affiliations, and an email address
for the lead author
- A high-resolution representative still image in the PDF document.
Separate images will not be accepted.
When preparing the video, please make it as professional as possible.
Submitted videos should follow the following guidelines:
- Titles and credits should not be displayed more ten seconds: the content
is the most important!
- Encoded as an MP4 using the H.264 codec. No exceptions!
- Encode your video using square pixels for the pixel aspect ratio and
disable interlacing.
- We strongly recommend 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of at least of
1280x720px
Producing a video already requires a significant amount of effort, and
spending just a little more effort to raise the quality can make a big
difference. Please note that these videos will appear as a file in the HTML
directory structure of the electronic proceedings. Any variance from the
suggested formatting may result in difficulties playing the file on
different platforms.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
The deadline for video submissions is: January 15th, 2016
Video descriptions must be submitted via email, with the URL of the video
itself, to the Videos Chairs. (Please do not send us URLs of videos on
Youtube, or similar video hosting sites.)
For more information, or details on video submission, please contact the
Video Chairs:
- Adam Jones, University of Mississippi
- Ferran Argelaguet Sanz, Inria Rennes, France
