[iva] Upcoming PhD studentship in NLP at the Open University, UK

The Open University will shortly be inviting applications for full-time PhD studentships commencing 1 October 2016. A number of studentships will be available for exceptional UK, EU, and overseas applicants for full-time 3-year research projects.

The NLP group at the Open University would be interested in hearing from candidates wishing to pursue research in any of the following areas:

- computational semantics and pragmatics (including dialogue modelling and ambiguity),

- natural language generation,

- information extraction,

- NLP applied to educational technology,

- NLP applied to software engineering.

If you are interested in doing PhD research in one these areas, please contact Paul.Piwek and Alistair.Willis (both at open.ac.uk) for further information. The deadline for official applications has not yet been announced, but is likely to be end of this month (March 2016).

The studentships will be based in centrally located Milton Keynes (to the north of London, 40 minutes by train).
