IGGI PhD studentship at Goldsmiths

Applications are now open for one fully-funded IGGI PhD studentship at Goldsmiths, University of London, starting September 2016.

The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Intelligent Games and Games Intelligence (IGGI) offers a four-year PhD programme based at the Department of Computing, in collaboration with the Universities of York and Essex.  It supports research across a breadth of topics related to the production and application of digital games, and provides a extensive training programme on game design, game development, and research skills, as well as industry placements.

We particularly welcome applications in the following research areas:

1) Artificial Intelligence for game design

• Procedural content generation, e.g. of audio, art assets, scenes, or mechanics
• Computational creativity and co-creativity in games
• Game analytics and player modelling
• Applications of deep neural networks and swarm intelligence

2) Interaction technologies for gaming

• Multi-modal player interaction, e.g. brain or gestural interfaces
• Analysis of affect, behaviour and social interaction in games
• Technologies for disabled gamers and neurorehabilitation games
• Virtual reality gaming
