Dear Colleagues

This is the final call for submissions of talks and posters to the 4th Workshop on Virtual Social Interaction. This workshop will be held at Goldsmiths College London on 17th-18th December 2018. The workshop aims to bring together researchers in psychology and computing who have an interest in understanding, modelling and generating human social behaviour.

By highlighting the interplay between science and technology, we can better help each other understand the building blocks of natural human social behaviour and find ways to reconstruct that behaviour synthetically in order to test new theories and build more realistic virtual social interactions. This year we will get a deeper look into what it means to be a social animal both from the perspectives of social robotics and animation, as well as comparative studies in great apes. Whether you have a background in psychology, neuroscience, or computer science, we welcome you all to join us in London this winter.

We have a great line up of keynote speakers this year, with talks from:

- Dr Mariska Kret (Leiden University)

- Dr Rachel McDonnell (Trinity College Dublin)

- Dr Agnieszka Wykowska (Italian Institute of Technology)

- Prof Justine Cassell (Carnegie Mellon)

We are also inviting submissions of talks and posters from junior faculty, postdocs and PhD students. The submission deadline is midnight on Thursday 18th October.

Please pass this email on to your lab and encourage them to submit. We look forward to seeing you at Goldsmiths

Best

Antonia
