Special Session on

Exploring social credibility and trust in HRI

30th IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive
Communication - RO-MAN 2021

August 8 - 12, 2021

The session will focus on the impact of a robot's social credibility and
its impact on people’s expectations, beliefs and concerns and consequently
on trust in the robot during HRI. In particular, this session will bring
together leading researchers in the fields to share and discuss ideas and
findings to guide the design and development of robots that are able to
effectively collaborate with human users.

The topics include, but are not limited to:

   Deliberate and conscious social communication

   Balancing social credibility and functionality
   -

   Relation between social credibility and trustworthiness
   -

   Trust calibration and establishment of social credibility
   -

   Repair mechanisms for trust and social credibility
   -

   Social expectations and their effects on trust in HRI

   Socially accepted robot behaviours and non-interactive tasks
