Establishing an interdisciplinary perspective on speech-based technology -

Collecting and connecting theoretical and methodological approaches from
multiple disciplines to widen the perspective on speech-based technology

AI-Debate 2021 is part of the MOBILE HCI 2021 workshop programme
https://mobilehci.acm.org/2021 <https://mobilehci.acm.org/2021>.

Date:         September, 27, 2021

Venue:        online

Organizers:     Astrid Carolus, Julius-Maximilians University of Wuerzburg

Carolin Wienrich, Julius-Maximilians University of Wuerzburg

Ingo Siegert, Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg

Reflecting the ongoing technological evolution of speech-based
technology over the last few years, the workshop aims for widening the
perspective on human-technology interaction by bringing together
researchers from different scientific areas - especially from those
areas, which are currently rarely represented in the field of
voice-based technology. Therefore, the workshop focuses on three main aims:

 1.

    Connecting researchers from different backgrounds

 2.

Collecting theoretical and methodological approaches from the range
    of scientific disciplines

 3.

Analyzing possible conceptual and methodological overlaps and cross
    connections

We invite researchers from all areas of science, who are interested in
any facet of speech-based technology. Be it the understanding of speech,
the voice, the speech-based interaction of humans with technology or
with each other, the perspective on the individual users and certain
user groups; or the perspective on the effects of such interactions,
again on the level of the individual users but also on a societal level.
We explicitly address philosophers, theologists and all humanities
scholars, designers, user experience-experts and engineers as well as
data science experts and psychologists - but are not limited to these
disciplines.

How to participate - Submission of position papers

Participants are encouraged to submit position papers of about 1-3
pages(including references) using the ACM template

Position papers have to be uploaded via the easychair system
<https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=aidebate2021>(https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=aidebate2021)
and will be reviewed by the Workshop Committee.
