Sept. 10 - 13, Boston, Massachusetts, USA
================================================
The organizing committee of the 2023 Affective Computing and Intelligent Interaction (ACII) conference is now inviting special session proposals. Interested parties will need to provide sufficient evidence in support of their proposed special session topic explaining why it deserves distinct focus and demonstrating that there is significant interest to attract papers on this topic. Preference will be given to topics that bring an interdisciplinary focus, draw new attendees to the conference, and/or reflect an exciting emerging area of interest to the AAAC community.
Once accepted, the organizers of the special session will be expected to attract sufficient papers to make up one session, 1hr 40min, at the conference even after a rigorous peer review of submissions. Note, at least one of the special session organizers will be expected to attend the conference.
Submission format
Proposals must be submitted as a single PDF via email to gratch at ict.usc.edu<mailto:gratch at ict.usc.edu>
Your proposal should include the following items:
* Title of the session
* Rationale of the need for the Special Session at ACII 2023.
* List of candidates that have expressed explicit interest in submitting to the special session
* Potential structure of session i.e., oral, posters, mix of oral and poster, or other structure relevant for the special session
* Short biography of the organizers
Review Process of Special Session Submissions
Papers will be treated as regular papers from both the perspective of the review process and of the proceedings (e.g., length, timeline), but to encourage interdisciplinary submissions (which often to not publish in conferences), authors will have the option to opt out of including their articles indexed and archived. If authors elect to be archived, accepted papers and abstracts will be included in a Special-Session proceedings that will be published along with the regular ACII digital proceedings. The special session will have its own keyword and session organizers will be asked to nominate reviewers and make initial recommendations to the special session chairs.
Date for Special Session Proposal
* Submission of Special Session proposals: Feb 17, 2023
