Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Transformative Garment Production (TransGP) in Hong Kong to commence as soon as possible on a fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal.
Job Description
The Fellow will work on an exciting multi-disciplinary project related to transforming garment production within the manufacturing sector by enhancing human-robot collaboration. The aspect of the project the applicant will mainly work on relates to multimodal affective and social signal processing for human operator intention analysis and understanding and designing as well as adapting the machine / robot interfaces and actions for more intuitive and effective human-robot collaboration (HRC). These will be achieved by working with the project team based in HKU and in collaboration with the Cambridge Affective Intelligence and Robotics (AFAR) Lab: https://cambridge-afar.github.io/.

Requirements
Applicants should possess a PhD degree in computer science, information engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Applicants must meet the requirements relating to the following areas:
* Excellent programming skills (e.g. Python) and analytical skills with an interest in computational HRI;
* Open to collaborations and be self-motivated;
* Experience with interaction design and/or user studies, ideally for HRI;
* Practical experience with programming robots or robotic interfaces, ideally for real-world applications;
* Good (and relevant) publication record in Affective Computing, Social Signal Processing, and/or Human-Robot Interaction or Collaboration, Machine Learning for HRI/Robotics, or a closely related research area;
* High proficiency in written and spoken English.
Applicants with (i) experience in machine/deep learning, ideally applied to human affective and social behaviour analysis and understanding; or (ii) have experience in user studies for real-world HRI applications; or (iii) have experience with undertaking HRI user studies, ideally related to manufacturing robots (or cobots), are highly preferrable.
