The 20th Annual ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI 2025) invites high-quality submissions for Late-Breaking Reports, Demos/Videos, and the Student Design Challenge. The conference theme for HRI 2025 is "Robots for a Sustainable World."
Below are the key details and deadlines for each category. Full details for each submission type can be found on the conference website https://humanrobotinteraction.org/2025/

===========================================================
Late-Breaking Reports (LBR)
The Late-Breaking Reports (LBR) venue at HRI 2025 provides authors with the opportunity to present early-stage results and new ideas on exciting, cutting-edge, and experimental research. This track is an excellent opportunity for researchers new to the field to participate in the conference. All LBR submissions will undergo double-blind peer review, and accepted LBRs will be published in the conference proceedings, available in both the ACM Digital Library and IEEE Xplore.
*       Submission Deadline: December 6th, 2024  (23:59 AoE)
*       Review Deadline: December 20th, 2024
*       Notification of Acceptance: January 8, 2025
*       Submission Requirements:
o       A 2-4 page article (excluding references)
o Optionally, a max 2-minute video figure to accompany the submission
* Presentation: Accepted LBRs will be presented as posters during the main conference. At least one author must attend the conference in person.

Late-Breaking Report Chairs:
Aurélie Clodic (LAAS CNRS), Tesca Fitzgerald (Yale), Emmanuel Senft (Idiap Research Institute), Zhi Tan (Northeastern University)

Demos and Videos
The Demos and Videos track offers an interactive way to present cutting-edge systems and videos that make interaction with robots more intuitive, seamless, and engaging. Submissions should align with the conference theme, "Robots for a Sustainable World," and demonstrate the societal benefits and real-world applications of the presented research.
*       Submission Deadline: December 9, 2024 (23:59 AoE)
*       Notification of Acceptance: January 12, 2025
*       Camera-Ready Deadline: January 17, 2025
*       Submission Requirements:
o A video (up to 3 minutes long, maximum 70MB)
o A 1-3 page summary document describing the demo/video, its novelty, and its potential impact
* Presentation: Accepted demos/videos will be presented at the conference, and submissions will be published in the IEEE Xplore companion proceedings.

Need to borrow a Pepper Robot to Run your Demo?
Aldebaran has generously provided 3 Pepper robots for HRI 2025, aiming to facilitate researchers in presenting their work without the hassle of traveling with their own platform. The process is straightforward-just like any other demo submission. Simply submit your demo proposal and indicate if you would require a Pepper robot for your demo at the conference. If your proposal is accepted, you will be assigned a "robot usage slot" to set up your demo. This initiative supports our goal of a more sustainable world, creating new opportunities for researchers who might otherwise not have the chance to share their work with the community.

Demos and Video Chairs:
Raquel Ros (PAL Robotics, Spain), Angelica Lim (Simon Fraser University, Canada)

Student Design Challenge (SDC)
The Student Design Challenge (SDC) invites student teams from various disciplines to design and develop a human-robot interaction that addresses one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This challenge provides a hands-on introduction to the interdisciplinary world of HRI through team-based projects.
*       Initial Submission Deadline: December 2, 2024
*       Acceptance Notification: January 6, 2025
*       Camera-Ready Deadline: January 21, 2025
*       Submission Requirements:
o       A 1-4 page paper (including references)
o A draft video presentation (up to 3 minutes)
* Presentation: Accepted projects will be showcased at the main conference. Participants are encouraged to bring physical prototypes to the event.
