Hello,

ACM Conference on Intelligent Virtual Agents (IVA) is the premier
international event for interdisciplinary research on the development,
application, and evaluation of intelligent virtual agents with the
specific focus on the ability to interact socially. Such agents can be
embodied graphically (e.g. virtual characters, embodied conversational
agents) or physically (e.g. robots). They are capable of real-time
perception, cognition, emotion, and action allowing them to participate
in dynamic social environments. This includes human-like interaction
qualities such as multimodal communication using facial expressions,
speech, and gestures, conversational interaction, socially assistive and
affective interaction, interactive task-oriented cooperation, or social
behavior simulation. IVAs are highly relevant for and widely applied in
many societally important domains including health, education, training,
entertainment, at the work place or for assisted living.

The venue for the ACM IVA conferences changes annually and is selected
through a bidding process. The steering committee oversees this
selection, aiming to support and strengthen the IVA community.
Additionally, the committee defines the primary goals and focus areas of
the conferences and ensures their consistency year after year.

We are calling for applications to join the IVA steering committee.
Candidates should be active members of the IVA community. They should
have regularly published and attended the IVA conferences. They should
have been involved in organizing the IVA conferences.

If you are interested in participating in the IVA steering committee,
