We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher for 30 months to undertake
research and contribute to the development of knowledge relating to natural
language generation and human-robot interaction. Specifically, the post
will help identify challenges associated with the incorporation of various
data sources such as knowledge bases, visual information and sensor data,
will investigate and develop multi-modal machine learning models for
natural language generation and will perform evaluations via a series of
experiments and task-based evaluations.
Common-sense- and Visually-enhanced natural Language generation (CiViL) is
an ambitious three-year project funded by the UK's Engineering & Physical
Sciences Research Council. The project aims to develop domain-independent
natural language generation models enhanced with Common-sense knowledge in
order to transform the way humans interact with intelligent systems.
*What are we looking for*
Essential requirements:
- PhD in Natural Language Generation, Human-Robot Interaction or
relevant area.
- Publications in high-quality conferences and journals such as ACL,
EMNLP or related.
- Experience in conducting task-based evaluations with human
participants.
