We hope that you are well and safe. The current outbreak of coronavirus is
affecting our lifestyle and academic routine. We would like, however, to
keep focusing on one of our strong driver that is sharing knowledge and
ideas.

We are very pleased to invite you to submit your works at the third
editions of our workshop on Trust, Acceptance and Social Cues in
Human-Robot Interaction - SCRITA. The workshop will be held with IEEE
RO-MAN 2020 in the beautiful Naples, Italy - August 31st - September 4th.

The workshop will be held in conjunction with IEEE RO-MAN 2020, Royal
Continental Hotel and Meeting Centre, Naples, Italy, August 31 – 04
September, 2020.

The SCRITA workshop is a continuation of two successful previous workshops
at the RO-MAN conference in 2018 <https://scrita.herts.ac.uk/2018> and 2019
<https://scrita.herts.ac.uk/2019>. This workshop focuses on investigating
users' trust in robots. Although the previous editions had the pleasure to
welcome the participation of leading researchers in the field, and several
exceptional invited speakers, who identified some principal points in this
research direction, current research still presents several limitations.
For this reason, we continue to further explore the role of trust in social
robotics to effectively support the design and development of socially
acceptable and trustable service robots. In this context, a deeper
exploration of trust in HRI approached from a multidisciplinary perspective
(from AI to Psychology, passing through Ethics and Law) is required.
Therefore, this workshop will analyse the different aspects of human-robot
interaction that can affect, enhance, undermine, or recover humans' trust
in robots, such as the use of social cues, behaviour transparency (goals
and actions), etc.

As the previous workshops were followed by special issues in Interaction
Studies <https://benjamins.com/catalog/is.20.3> and the International
Journal of Social Robotics
<http://scrita.herts.ac.uk/2019/specialissue.html>, we again aim for a
special issue in a relevant journal that is based on the current workshop
iteration.

We are seeking papers covering all the different aspects of Human-Robot
Interaction that can affect, enhance, undermine and recovery of humans'
trust and acceptance in robots. Topics of interest include, but are not

Submission Guidelines

We encourage participants to submit extended abstract or full papers, up to
6 pages, on original research and not simultaneously submitted to another
journal or conference.

We also would like to invite participants to submit an input paper, up to 2
pages, to be used as discussion points for a panel discussion held during
the workshop with the invited speakers and attendees.

Authors should submit their papers formatted according the IEEE RO-MAN
two-column format. Download the template: LaTeX
