[iva] PhD position (ITN COBRA) on vocal alignment in speakers and robots

In the context of the European ITN Project Cobra (
https://www.cobra-network.eu/), one PhD position at Furhat Robotics in
Stockholm, Sweden is now open.
Full-time three-year contract, starting October 2020.
Deadline for application is 31 July 2020, 5 pm GMT.
The position will focus on acoustic-prosodic alignment in humans and robots
with a focus on gender and the communicative situation. The project will
involve both analysis of alignment, as well as developing models of
alignment for human-robot interaction.
Main supervisors: Prof Gabriel Skantze (Furhat Robotics/KTH) and Dr Magalie
Ochs (Aix-Marseille University, France)

Applicants should have a Master’s degree in a subject relevant for the
research, such as computer science, language technology, or cognitive
science. Applicants are expected to have good skills in programming and
experience in machine learning. Some experience in linguistics is
considered an advantage.
Eligible applicants must be in the first 4 years of their research careers
(full-time equivalent research experience) at the signature of the contract
(measured from the time the Master’s degree has been obtained).
