[Apologies for multiple postings of this announcement]

Dear colleagues,

We are very pleased to inform you that we extended the deadline of
submission for papers at the third editions of our workshop on Trust,
Acceptance and Social Cues in Human-Robot Interaction - SCRITA. The
workshop will be held with IEEE RO-MAN 2020 in the beautiful Naples, Italy
- August 31st - September 4th.

Read below further information, and please do not hesitate to contact us if
you have any questions.

Kind regards,

SCRITA 2020: IEEE RO-MAN 2020 Workshop on Trust, Acceptance and Social Cues
in Human-Robot Interaction
Royal Continental Hotel and Meeting Centre

Submission deadline August 9, 2020

The workshop will be held in conjunction with IEEE RO-MAN 2020, Royal
Continental Hotel and Meeting Centre, Naples, Italy, August 31 – 04
September, 2020.

The SCRITA workshop is a continuation of two successful previous workshops
at the RO-MAN conference in 2018 <https://scrita.herts.ac.uk/2018> and 2019
<https://scrita.herts.ac.uk/2019>. This workshop focuses on investigating
users' trust in robots. Although the previous editions had the pleasure to
welcome the participation of leading researchers in the field, and several
exceptional invited speakers, who identified some principal points in this
research direction, current research still presents several limitations.
For this reason, we continue to further explore the role of trust in social
robotics to effectively support the design and development of socially
acceptable and trustable service robots. In this context, a deeper
exploration of trust in HRI approached from a multidisciplinary perspective
(from AI to Psychology, passing through Ethics and Law) is required.
Therefore, this workshop will analyse the different aspects of human-robot
interaction that can affect, enhance, undermine, or recover humans' trust
in robots, such as the use of social cues, behaviour transparency (goals
and actions), etc.

As the previous workshops, there will be a special issue based on this
workshop edition at Paladyn, Journal of Behavioral Robotics. More info
about the special issue can be found on our website scrita.herts.ac.uk
List of Topics

We are seeking papers covering all the different aspects of Human-Robot
Interaction that can affect, enhance, undermine and recovery of humans'
trust and acceptance in robots. Topics of interest include, but are not
limited to, the following:

·       Impact of social cues on trust in human-robot interaction;

·       Measuring trust in human-robot interaction;

·       Trust violation and recovery mechanism in human-robot interaction;

·       Effects of humans’ acceptance on trust of robots;

·       Human sense of control and trust in robots;

·       Trust and assistive robotics;

·       Overtrust in robots;

·       Antecedent of trust and robot trust;

·       Enhancing humans trust in robots;

·       Enhancing trust in a robot companion;

·       Privacy implications on trust in human-robot interaction;

·       Mental models and trust in human-robot interaction;

·       Trust and safety in human-robot interaction;

·       Ethics implications on trust in human-robot interaction;

·       Trustworthy AI;

· Legal frameworks for trustworthy robotics

Submission Guidelines

We encourage participants to submit extended abstract or full papers, up to
6 pages, on original research and not simultaneously submitted to another
journal or conference.

We also would like to invite participants to submit an input paper, up to 2
pages, to be used as discussion points for a panel discussion held during
the workshop with the invited speakers and attendees.

Authors should submit their papers formatted according the IEEE RO-MAN
two-column format. Download the template: LaTeX
<http://ras.papercept.net/conferences/support/tex.php> or MS-Word
<http://ras.papercept.net/conferences/support/word.php>, Use these
templates/style files to create the paper and save in PDF format. Authors
can submit a PDF copy through EasyChair
<https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=scrita2020>. Each paper will
receive two reviews. At least one of the authors of the accepted papers
needs to register to the workshop.
