Open Style Lab (OSL) is looking for engineering fellows who would be interested in a 8-week intensive summer program to cocreate innovative accessible footwear kits and packaging through transformative co-design with disabled experts. This is the 9th OSL Summer Program which is a Smithsonian National Design Award-winning incubator that cultivates an incredible community of innovative creative leaders. The summer program runs from June to August in Brooklyn, NY. 

Open Style Lab (https://www.openstylelab.org/) is a nonprofit organization committed to making style accessible for everyone, regardless of their cognitive and physical abilities. 


***Calling for Fellow from the areas of***
* Industrial Engineering
* Product Engineering


***Stipend***
$1500 per team for material costs. If fellows require need-based financial support to go towards travel, accommodation, and food, they can apply through the corresponding question in the form.


***Eligibility criteria***
* Open to US Citizens or must be able to fill out a W9 form.
* Must be a New York resident or able to readily commute to New York.

***Fellow Time Commitment Expectations***
(Hybrid Format)
* Saturday full day program
* Weekly lab day (minimum 1 day per team)
* Three 2 hour weeknight virtual calls
* Independent intensive developments throughout the week


***Proven Impact***
Previous program outcomes have been featured at New York Fashion Week and showcased at esteemed institutions such as the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in NYC, Museum für Gestaltung Zürich in Zurich and the upcoming Victoria and Albert Museum in London June 2025.
